Career Development Workshop

This workshop is designed to assist clinical and research trainees as well as junior faculty pursuing careers in academic hepatology. The speakers will cover topics such as how to find and choose a mentor, how to make the most out of the mentor-mentee-relationship, the interview and contract negotiation process, and funding opportunities for fellows and junior faculty. In addition, participants will be offered the opportunity to network with leaders in the field.
Goals and Objectives:
- Gain insights into the development of basic and clinical research projects and options for obtaining funding.
- Understand the dynamics of the mentor-mentee relationship and how to advance academically as a junior faculty/advanced fellow/post-doctoral fellow.
- Select GI fellowship programs based on their individual career goals.
- Understand the role of fourth-year training in transplant hepatology.
