The International Association for the Study of the Liver (IASL) held its 50th Anniversary meeting in conjunction with The Liver Meeting® 2008. IASL is a nonprofit organization whose aim is to foster and facilitate, in an international context, the development of knowledge towards the prevention, recognition, and treatment of liver and biliary tract diseases and to facilitate the training of experts in hepatology.
