Award Description
The AASLD and ALF Boards of Directors have identified as a high priority the need to sustain the “pipeline” of physician scientists and academic clinicians into the field of hepatology and liver transplantation, and believe that identifying promising young residents would be a potential mechanism to achieve this goal. By exposing the residents to the excitement of The Liver Meeting® -AASLD's Annual Meeting - and the opportunity to meet leaders in hepatology, we hope to stimulate these residents to pursue hepatology as a career.
The ALF/AASLD Resident Scholar Travel Awards are designed to promote the study of hepatology among residents who have potential for a career in academic medicine who might be interested in choosing adult or pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, hepatopathology, surgery/transplantation, or GI radiology with an emphasis on hepatobiliary imaging as their career focus.
