Educating healthcare professionals, scientists, and the public about liver disease is one of AASLD's core goals. AASLD has a very strong Continuing Medical Education (CME) program that enables us to disseminate information about liver biology and disease, provide a forum for discussing new and/or controversial issues, and foster evidence-based strategies for the practice of hepatology, liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery. 

The educational activities sponsored, co-sponsored or jointly sponsored by AASLD always feature expert speakers who address the pathophysiology and management of acute and chronic diseases, as well as advances in research relevant to hepatology and liver transplantation.

 NEW from the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research: HCV Drug Resistance Slide Set

Recognizing the need for education regarding HCV drug resistance, the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research's HCV Drug Development Advisory Group (academicians, clinicians, researchers and patient advocates) have contributed to a slide deck explaining resistance in HCV, its consequences as well as its mitigation.
