Annual Meeting Education Committee
Chair: Rebecca T. Wells, MD
Organizes AASLD's annual Postgraduate Course, Pediatric Symposium, General Hepatology Update and Endoscopy Course (held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting).

Basic Research Committee
Chair: Lopa Mishra, MD
Organizes the annual Basic Research Single Topic Conference and Basic Research Workshop at the Annual Meeting, and Focus Study Groups.

Clinical Research Committee
Chair: Marc Ghany, MD
Organizes the annual Clinical Research Single Topic Conference, the Hepatitis Single Topic Conference, Pediatric Single Topic Conference, and Focus Study Groups.

Development Committee
Chair: W. Ray Kim, MD
Reviews gift agreements, naming opportunities and gift acceptance policies; assists AASLD with soliciting financial and in-kind support for AASLD programs and fellowships; and presents AASLD to new prospects.

Education Oversight Committee
Chair: Jorge A. Bezerra, MD
Oversees and evaluates all AASLD educational offerings and ensures that they are coherent and consistent with the educational needs of the membership.

Ethics Committee
Chair: Adrian Reuben, MBBS, FRCP, FACG
Serves in an advisory capacity to the Governing Board in the evaluation of ethical issues relating to the activities of AASLD, and its members acting in the name of AASLD.

Federal Agencies Liaison Committee
Chair: Laurie D. DeLeve, MD, PhD
Enhances an ongoing relationship with various NIH Institutes and other federal agencies, including but not limited to CDC, FDA, and VA to guide liver-related research initiatives and to build an awareness of funding opportunities linked to hepatology and AASLD members.

Finance Committee
Chair: Lynt B. Johnson, MD, MBA
Provides supervision of financial assets of AASLD and advice and support for the financial deliberations and decisions of the AASLD Governing Board with respect to financial matters, the investment strategies of AASLD's financial advisors, and the financial needs of the Association; and provides an independent review of the accounts of AASLD and examines the external financial audit.

Hepatology Associates Committee
Chair: Joy A. Peter, RN, BSN
Organizes the annual Hepatology Associates Course (held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting); and oversees the NP/PA Clinical Hepatology Fellowship Program, selects recipients and develops program curriculum.

International Relations Advisory Committee
Chair: Arun J. Sanyal, MD
Advocates and develops joint educational programs with international societies.

Journals Publications Committee
Chair: Michael B. Fallon, MD
Manages and provides AASLD guidance for the publication of HEPATOLOGY and Liver Transplantation, ensuring quality journals based on member needs.

Membership and Mentoring Committee
Chair: Steven K. Herrine, MD
Reviews and recommends membership criteria, categories, benefits, dues, and candidates for membership in AASLD and develops programs to encourage and mentor students to become involved in a career path related to liver disease.

Nominating Committee
Chair: T. Jake Liang, MD
Provides a slate of candidates for membership on the AASLD Governing Board, chair of the ethics committee, and nominating committee and recommends candidates to the President-Elect for appointment to AASLD committees.

Practice Guidelines Committee
Chair: Hashem B. El-Serag, MD, MPH
Defines topics, assigns authors, and assists in the development of practice guidelines.

Program Evaluation Committee
Chair: Mary E. Rinella, MD
Provides reviews and unbiased evaluations of the annual scientific meetings of AASLD and DDW, and advises the AASLD Governing Board on how to improve the scientific conduct and overall structure of the meetings to ensure that they continue to be of outstanding scientific and educational quality.

Public and Clinical Policy Committee
Chair: Nancy Reau, MD
Develops policy recommendations for consideration by the governing board with regard to hepatology and assures that those policies are accurately reflected in external communications. Monitors and advances issues related to the clinical practice of hepatology and works with AASLD's government representatives in Washington, DC, to advise the Association on activities related to policy issues in clinical practice.

(AASLD/ALF) Research Awards Committee
AASLD Co-Chair: Steven Lidofsky, MD
ALF Co-Chair: Linda Greenbaum, MD

Responsible for the review and selection processes for the AASLD/ALF Grants/Awards/Fellowships. Will also develop, review and select new fellowship/awards that are not abstract driven.

Scientific Program Committee
Chair: Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao, MD
Co-Chair: Jorge A. Bezerra, MD

Develops the scientific and educational programming for AASLDs' Annual Meeting and AASLDs' portion of DDW®.

Surgery and Liver Transplantation Committee
Chair: David J. Reich, MD, FACS
Organizes the Annual Transplant Course, and Surgical Forum held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting.

Training and Workforce Committee
Chair: Bruce A. Luxon, MD, PhD
Promotes excellent undergraduate and postgraduate training in hepatology and helps ensure an adequate supply of clinical and research hepatologists.
