Expanding Health Care Coverage
On May 11, the Senate Finance Committee released the second of three policy options papers entitled, Expanding Health Care Coverage: Proposals to Provide Affordable Coverage to All Americans. The following is an outline of a wide variety of options to expand both private and public insurance coverage options. Besides discussing a wide variety of coverage options, the paper also details proposals to expand access to preventive services.
Financing Comprehensive Health Care Reform
On May 18, the Senate Finance Committee released its final policy options paper entitled, Financing Comprehensive Health Care Reform: Proposed Health Savings and Revenue Options. The following is an outline of options to finance delivery system reform proposals that include health system savings, modifying the exclusion for employer-provided health coverage, modifying other health care related revenue raisers and examining certain lifestyle related revenue raisers.
