The primary initial focus of the AHF is the Hepatitis B Initiative. AHF initiatives include the provision of continuing medical education regarding the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of hepatitis B to medical providers as well as the development of increased public awareness of this disorder.

San Francisco Hep B Free is a citywide campaign to turn San Francisco into the first hepatitis B free city in the nation. This unprecedented campaign will provide free and low-cost hepatitis B testing and vaccinations to Asian and Pacific Islander (API) adults at locations throughout San Francisco.

TAG's Hepatitis/HIV Project draws from the core values and history of HIV activism, while incorporating hepatitis C-specific information into strategies targeting different constituencies, regions, and countries. In 2011, the Hepatitis/HIV Project will focus on optimizing quality of, and broadening access to HCV care and treatment for communities and individuals by continuing its domestic and international work with other activists, regulatory agencies, pharmaceutical companies, clinicians, and the patient community.

The World Hepatitis Alliance is a patient-led international NGO whose membership is composed of organizations working in the field of viral hepatitis. The Alliance led the global advocacy efforts that resulted in the WHO viral hepatitis resolution in 2010 and has been coordinating World Hepatitis Day since 2008 (with WHO in 2011).
